As a kid, I dreaded the start of the school year, but loved going shopping for back to school clothes and new school supplies. Since, September 1st  (the first day of school for the Chinese public school system) is just around the corner, I thought it'd be fun to write about one of the most well known places to get school and art supplies in Shanghai.

On August 8th, Etude House opened the doors to its Nanjing East road location. Despite the rain, girls lined up to get their hands on this famously cute cosmetic brand from Korean.

Take a trip back to Shanghai in the 1930s

 Visit  Tianzifang 

This place is a wonderland for romantics and lovers of history as nearly all the architecture is representative of the 1930s Shanghainese shikumen (lit. "Stone Warehouse Gate") housing that beautifully weaves together Chinese and Western architectural styles.
